Jags Lacrosse won the Bergey Cup title. Jags Lacrosse recently captured the team title at the Bergey Cup, a boys’ high school tournament run by the Philadelphia Wings at the Wells Fargo Center.
Jags Lacrosse consisted of Christian Portale (attackman), Mark Barnes (goalie), Kevin McGroarty (midfielder), Matt Hurley (midfielder), Zach Penfil (attackman), Kyle Roberts (attackman), Brock D’Annunzio (attackman), Jules Raucci (attackman), Robert Raucci (attackman), Vail Urso (midfielder), Adam Rudman (midfielder), Jonathan Vandenberg (midfielder), Brandon Dowd (midfielder), Matt Taulane (attackman), and Joseph Taulane (midfielder). Coaches were Frank Urso and Joe Kivlen.
The championship trophy was given out by former Wing Jake Bergey, a popular member of the team who retired several years ago. Teams played Box Lacrosse rules . Players got to meet members of the Wings and could stay to watch the team play the Washington Stealth.
Teams entered into the tourney also included New Oxford, Absagami, Wilmington Lacrosse, Deran, Tewaarathon Boys Lacrosse and North Burlington.
