Girls’ lacrosse milestone: Downingtown East’s Rafferty reaches 200 career goals; Cherry Hill East’s Delaney hits 100

Downingtown East senior McKenzie Rafferty scored her 200th career goal on May 3 against Sun Valley in an 18-2 Ches-Mont League victory.

Rafferty, who is signed with Delaware, added 19 more goals in the Cougars’ final three games and has 219 for her career. She is one of three from Downingtown East to reach the milestone.

Her efforts helped Downingtown East – the defending District 1 champion and last year’s state runner-up – finish the regular season with four straight wins.

The Cougars claimed fourth place in the Central League (tied with Unionville) and closed at 10-8 as their await their seed in the District 1 tournament.

Cherry Hill East’s Caitlin Delaney Scores 100th goal

Cherry Hill East junior Caitlin Delaney scored her 100th and 101st goal Thursday by netting six goals in East’s 15-6 win over Pennsauken. Her goal total stands at 75 for the season. That also brings East’s record to 8-8 with its sixth win in seven games
