Radnor senior goalie Colleen Packer had committed to play Division I lacrosse at Columbia University and begin the admissions process.
Colleen Packer log:
High School: Radnor
Graduation Year: 2012
Position: Goalie
College Choice: Columbia
Lacrosse honors: Member of team that shared Central League championship in 2011.
Academic honors: Three varsity letters in swimming, is President of the Student Body, is on Model UN, and is in the National Honor Society.
What will you major in/study? Undecided
Why did you choose school? “I like Columbia because they have the core [curriculum], which is good for someone like me that isn’t exactly sure what they want to do. You have to take many different areas of classes, so maybe I’ll find something that I’m in love with. Columbia has a really exciting up and coming lacrosse program where I definitely have a chance to see a lot of playing time and to be a part of a big change. From a location standpoint, I really like the whole idea that it has its own campus, but at the same time, you’re in the middle of the city. There are many opportunities outside of the actual school.”
What is your HS team’s outlook for next year? “Our goal is to never change even though we’ve lost so many great players. I think we still are always looking to be State Champions, because that’s Radnor, we play to win. At the same time, I think it’s important to take steps, so we’re definitely looking to win the big games. Some games this year we let get away, so I think we want to get those back.”
Note: All student-athletes must continue through the admissions process when applying to Ivy League schools.
