Hatboro-Horsham senior midfielder Julie McKay has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at American University.
Julie McKay log:

High School: Hatboro-Horsham
Graduation Year: 2012
Position: Midfield
College Choice: American University
Club Affiliation: Phantastix
Major lacrosse honors: PASLA School Girls National Tournament team (for the past two years), 1st team All-League for Midfield, 3rd team All-Continental
Academic honors: Academic All-American, National Honors Society, Distinguished Honor Roll
What will you major in/study? “I am not totally sure what I want to major in, but I think something with International Business or Political Science.”
Why did you choose school? “I chose American University because I fell in love with the school and DC every time I visited. The girls and the coaches are so nice and welcoming to new people, which was comforting. I also think that American will set me up to do great things in life, and being in DC will provide many opportunities.”
What is your HS team’s outlook for next year? “Last year our team was good and we had a great record. Although we lost in the second round of playoffs, which was somewhat of a disappointment, we had a great season. This year we are bringing up a lot of good talent and only losing one starter which is awesome! Hopefully we can come out as strong as we did last year and meet a lot of the goals our team has set for itself.”
Other comments: “I would really like to thank all my coaches from Phantastix, my high school coach Mr. (Duncan) Swezey, my parents, sister and brother, and my friends. I never could have accomplished any of this without you guys! Thank you!”
