Boyertown senior midfielder Zoe Reilly has made a verbal commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Framingham State College (MA).
Reilly is a starter on the Bears squad that has won seven straight Pioneer Athletic Conference championships. She plays club lacrosse for team Aftershock.
At Framingham State, Reilly intends on majoring in Food Science and Nutrition. The Rams are in their fourth year of collegiate lacrosse.
“All of my visits were successful, I really like the school and the team was nice,” Reilly said.
Her intended major in Nutrition caused her to have a smaller selection of schools to choose from.
“I know there isn’t a future in lacrosse so my decision came down to academics,” she said.
Framingham is the alma mater of New Hampshire teacher Christa McAuliffe, one of seven crew members killed in the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster that occurred 25 years ago.
Reilly is optimistic that the Bears can defend their string of PAC-10 championships. She lists Methacton and owen J. Roberts as other contenders.
“We have a lot of strong players and we have a strong team,” she said.
