Women’s commitment: Cumberland Valley senior midfielder Breakey commits to Ohio State

Cumberland Valley senior midfielder Em Breakey has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Ohio State University.

Position: Midfield/attack

College Choice: Ohio State

Club Affiliation: X-treme

Major lacrosse honors: Team Awards: 2009 Rookie of the Year; 2010 MVP; 2011 Best Attacker. Conference Awards: 2010 Mid Penn 1st Team; 2011 Mid Penn 1st Team; 2011 Mid Penn MVP; Womens Division National Team (WDNT-Central PA) for 2010 and 2011!. Goals: Freshman year – 43 goals; Soph year.- 87 goals; Junior year- 112 goals for team that went 17-5 and won the Mid-Penn Conference title.

Academic honors: Honor Roll, FFA, Key Club, Club Green, Spanish Club, Varsity Field Hockey, Horseback Riding

What will you major in/study? Undecided, but something with Physician’s Assistant

Why did you choose school? “It’s a family tradition.” Note – Breakey’s mother and her siblings graduated from Ohio State. Breakey’s uncle, Kenny, wrestled all four years and was an assistant coach at OSU for 11 years.

What is your HS team’s outlook for next year? “We want to win the Mid-Penn championship.”
