Harriton senior attack Jessica Schwab has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Cornell and begin the admissions process.

Jessica Schwab log:

Jessica Schwab

High School: Harriton

Graduation Year: 2012

Position: Crease Attack

College Choice: Cornell

Club Affiliation: Phantastix Lacrosse Club

Major lacrosse honors: Under Armour All Star Team freshman year, Freshman year: honorable mention in all central league. Sophomore and Junior year: second team all Central League. Sophomore year: 3rd Philly Team for the National Tournament. Junior year: 2nd Philly team for national tournament. Had 71 goals and 48 assists as a junior.

Academic honors: Honor Roll with distinction freshman, sophomore, and junior years.

What will you major in/study? “I am looking in the sciences such as physics and possibly anthropology.”

Why did you choose Cornell? “I chose Cornell because I liked the coach (West Chester East alum Jenny Graap), the lacrosse program, the location, the academic program, and the campus. I loved the diversity of the students. Also, it felt like the right fit when I visited the campus.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next year? “I think that we are going to be great this year. We made it to states last year and this year I think we can win the entire thing. We have a really strong program and the outlook for this year is really good. You should watch out for the Harriton Girls Lacrosse team.”

Additional comments: “I would like to thank my father, Richard Schwab, who got me started playing lacrosse. My Dad has been my biggest fan and avid supporter since I showed an interest playing at a higher level. He has always been encouraging and loves to watch me play. I also would like to thank my mom, Edna Schwab, who had to put up with all my lacrosse by driving me to tournaments and practices. She has supported me through this whole experience. I would like to thank all my lacrosse coaches who have helped me along the way to get to this point.”

Note – All Ivy League student-athletes must continue following through the normal admissions process
