Athan Iannucci and Alex Turner handled the offense and Brandon Miller took care of the defense as the Philadelphia Wings throttled the host Boston Blazers, 11-5, tonight for their second National Lacrosse League win in a row.

Iannucci, beginning to round into form after missing all of last season with knee injuries, had four goals, two assists and 10 loose balls and Turner added three goals and two assists. Miller, meanwhile, was brilliant in goal by stopping 43 of 48 shots (24 of 27 in the first half) as the Wings evened their mark to 2-2 and avenged a 10-6 defeat to the Blazers on opening night.

Ryan McClelland added two goals for Philadelphia and Brendan Mundorf dished four assists. Drew Westervelt had a goal and three assists and Dan Hardy scored once. Miller, Bill McGlone (Ridley), Brett Manney (Holy Ghost Prep), Steve Holmes (Germantown Academy), Paul Dawson and Ryan Boyle each had an assist.

Dan Dawson led the Blazers with three goals and two assists, but Boston was outscored, 6-2, in the second half.

Jeff Reynolds won 11 of 17 face-offs for the Wings. Miller made many acrobatic saves.

The Wings return home tomorrow evening (Saturday, January 29) to host the Colorado Mammoth at 7 p.m. in a rematch of a contest played in Denver last Saturday night. The Wings took home their first victory of the season in that matchup by a score of 11-10 thanks to a late goal from defenseman Paul Dawson. Great seats are still available online at www.WingsLAX.com.
