Garrett Billings had two goals and eight assists to lead the Toronto Rock to a 16-13 win over the Philadelphia Wings in National Lacrosse League action Saturday.
Colin Doyle had three goals and six assists for Toronto (8-2). Stephan Leblanc added four goals and an assist while Blaine Manning registered three goals and two assists.
Brendan Mundorf and Athan Iannucci led the way for Philadelphia (4-5) with four goals and five assists apiece. Alex Turner added three goals and two assists while Drew Westervelt had two goals and four assists.
Jeff Reynolds won 23 of 34 draws and had 12 loose balls for Philadelphia.
The Wings return home Saturday night, March 5, to host the Calgary Roughnecks in 2nd annual HEADstrong Night at the Wings. Philadelphia will wear lime green jerseys, which will be auctioned off following the game to benefit the HEADstrong Foundation. Toronto’s Bob Watson stopped 37 shots while Philadelphia’s Brandon Miller made 24 saves.
Toronto seized a 6-3 first-period lead and never relinquished the advantage.
