For the third time in the last four months, the Lehigh Valley Conference (LVC) has lost one of its boys’ lacrosse coaches.

Mark Smith, who spent the past six seasons leading William Allen, informed school administration and the media Wednesday of his resignation.

Smith, 54, cited personal reasons for his departure.

Allen went winless this past spring finishing 0-16 overall (0-10 in the LVC). The Canaries also went winless in 2010 (0-15) and won just two games during the ’09 season.

Allen is a member of the LVC along with Emmaus, Allentown Central Catholic, Parkland, Easton and Nazareth.

Emmaus’ Jef Hewlings and Parkland’s Geoff Chenworth resigned during the summer.
