The US Lacrosse National Convention, presented by Champion, and the US Lacrosse Fan Fest will bring roughly 5,000 lacrosse coaches, officials, administrators, trainers, players and fans to the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia Jan. 13-15, 2012.

Men’s and women’s lacrosse coaches, officials and administrators of all levels of play may register for the US Lacrosse National Convention online at uslacrosse.org/2012convention before Dec. 28 for just $105, a savings of $45 on the walk-up price. The convention annually is the largest professional development and networking event in the lacrosse world, featuring approximately 150 educational sessions.

“Many of the game’s most knowledgeable and dedicated coaches and officials are presenters at our convention,” said Beth Porreca, director of special events at US Lacrosse. “It is a terrific opportunity for those involved in youth and high school lacrosse to learn more about their respective crafts and build or strengthen relationships with many of the experts at the sport’s higher levels.”

Former Philadelphia Eagle and NFL head coach Herm Edwards will return to the City of Brotherly Love and deliver the convention’s keynote address at 7 p.m. Jan. 13. Former four-time Super Bowl referee Jerry Markbreit will speak to all lacrosse officials at 5 p.m. Jan. 14.

Among the coaches scheduled to speak at the convention: Richie Meade (U.S. men’s senior team, former Navy coach), John Danowski (Duke men), John Walker (Virginia men), Chris Collins (Drexel men), Jim Berkman (Salisbury men), Jason Lamb (Adams State men), Tim Flynn (U.S. U19 men), Kelly Amonte Hiller (Northwestern women), Ricky Fried (U.S. women’s senior team, Georgetown), Kelly Berger (UMBC women), Karin Brower Corbett (Penn women), Janine Tucker (Johns Hopkins women), National Hall of Famers Bonnie Rosen (Temple women) and Chris Sailer (Princeton women), Lindsey Munday (USC women), Amber Falcone (Vanderbilt women), Katrina Dowd (Syracuse women) and Krystin Porcella (U.S. U19 women).

The US Lacrosse Fan Fest is open to the public from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 14. Fan Fest will feature demonstrations by players from the U.S. national teams and the Philadelphia Wings on the STX Live Field, and an appearance by the crew of the upcoming “Crooked Arrows” lacrosse feature film. Autographs will be available. Fan Fest also includes the sport’s largest exposition hall, featuring 130 vendors with lacrosse gear, equipment, apparel and services. Fan Fest tickets are $10 onsite at the convention center, and just $5 for players wearing lacrosse team jerseys.

Fan Fest info also is available at uslacrosse.org/2012convention.
