There will be a 2nd tryout for the Delaware County Keystone State Games high school team on Friday, June 24th at 6 p.m. at Cardinal O’Hara. Players only need to attend at least ONE tryout to be considered for the team. This will be the final tryout. Tryout fee is $25 and checks can be made payable to the EPSLA.

Greg Cattrano Goalie Clinic, July 29, 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. at Shipley’s Farm Field in Gladwynne. For boys and girls of all ages and all levels. One-on-One Instruction with Greg Cattrano, formerly of the MLL champion Philadelphia Barraga and now of the Long Island Lizards, as well as other top coaches. Provided are: Greg’s Goalie Philosophy, Unique Goalie Drills, Group Work, Techniques, Individual Analysis, Cardio Work-Outs with Certified Trainer Kim Whelan (Barrage, Wings, Philly Soul), Tips, Pointers, Handouts and Warrior Giveaways. The clinic is co-directed by Shipley coach Mark Duncan.
Room is still available in Coach Finn’s Finest U-13 Travel Team this summer. The club is being run by former Philadelphia Wing and Team USA player Kevin “Coach Finn” Finneran. The travel team will play in three tournaments, conduct 14 practices and have top level coaching. The team is geared towards B level players who want to become B+. This is the only travel team for Coach Finn, who will direct practices in Devon. The roster of 20 players will be chosen on a first come basis (no tryouts). Other staff members will be comprised of current and former college lacrosse players. The camp has a 50 player maximum (15 defensemen, 15 attackmen, 15 midfielders, 5 goalies) per camp session. This is not a camp for the “beginner” lacrosse player. Each session will be structured for the competitive, athletic, lacrosse player who aspires to be a successful high school student-athlete.
The Lehigh Lacrosse Experience Overnight Camp – Grades 5-10 , Tuesday June 28th – Friday July 1. This camp is designed for upper grade school, middle school and high school players of all skill levels who want to enjoy the combination of exceptional lacrosse instruction and a fun-filled residential experience. Each camper will receive a first-hand look at what it is like to be a Lehigh Lacrosse Player, while enjoying four days of instruction, three nights’ accommodation, and meals in our deluxe on-campus dining center. Each full day will include three independent on-field sessions (morning, afternoon, evening) that will focus on teaching fundamental skills and concepts, practicing half-field and full-field live game situations, and applying the skills and concepts from those game situations to the scrimmages and games. Lehigh will be offering advance instruction within its High School Division specifically designed for the high school player. The program is catered towards players seeking a better understanding of the recruiting process and how to best prepare themselves for to be successful at the collegiate level. The College Prep Division will include seminars on lacrosse specific speed and strength training, the recruiting process (what to expect and how to be prepared), academics and their impact on success, and a special seminar on leadership and character building. Villanova Boys’ Lacrosse Camps, Overnight/Commuter Camp, July 5-July 8, Age Divisions 10-13, 14-17. The camp is an instructional camp that concentrates on individual skill development for players of all skill levels as well as the teaching of team concepts. Skills are put to the test in scrimmages each evening. The camp is staffed by the Villanova coaching staff, Villanova and local college players, as well as local HS coaches. Man-Up Lacrosse Camp, July 18-22, 6:00 pm-9:00 pm, @ YMCA in Phoenixville (Freedom Valley). For boys aged 9-13 during time of camp; US Lacrosse Membership required for campers. (One time fee of $25 for US lacrosse membership). Camp cost $125. This is a instructional camp for boys who are looking to learn to play lacrosse as well as those looking to improve the skills they already have. The 11th Annual Premier Lacrosse Instructional Camp for boys entering Grades 3 through 9 will be held July 25-29 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Neumann University. The camp mixes fun and hard work in a great week of lacrosse with instruction from the top coaches in Delaware County. Campers will leave the camp with drills they can work on their own and better understanding of the game. The camp costs $150 for new campers and $125 for past campers. The Lehigh Valley Showcase , July 26-28, 2011 at Lehigh’s Bethlehem campus, will feature three days of advanced training, games, instructional combine and seminars, culminated by the all-star showcase on the final day. The camp will be run by Lehigh coaches and players with assistance from college coaches. Camp will feature no more than 200 participants. Campers will stay at the Lehigh dorms. All sessions of the Showcase will be filmed and made available to participants for personal use following the event. Campers also will receive printouts on strength and speed training combine activities such as the 40-yard dash, bench press and the vertical leap.
Each camper will play in at least six games during the camp. Seminars will be held for recruiting/academics, and leadership/character building. Many college coaches at the Division I, II and III level attend the All-Star Showcase and also serve as instructors. The All-Star Showcase will be held July 28th at 4:30 p.m. The camp will be co-directed by Lehigh coach Kevin Cassese (captain of World champion US National team and formerly of Philadelphia Barrage) and assistants Brendan Callahan and Taylor Wray (Philadelphia Wings defenseman/captain and assistant coach for Canadian National team). United Sports-a-Palooza, June 25 . United Sports is launching its First annual United Sports-a-Palooza, an Adult Multi-Sports festival featuring Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse. The tournament will be held at United Sports in Downingtown, PA. After games on Saturday, teams will join together for a BBQ Festival. This celebration will include live music, food and beverage, tailgating games, indoor activities for kids, non-profit organizations, and beer/wine garden. A portion of the proceeds will go towards various local charities.
