Washington D.C. used a strong transition game and claimed a 15-7 victory today over Team Philly in the Under Armour Underclassmen Games at Towson University’s Johnny Unitas Stadium.
Philly had won its opener, 13-5, over the Midwest. The 10-team tourney continues tomorrow for Philly when it meets Long Island at 9:45 a.m. Philly also plays the South at 4 p.m. in the final game of Pool Play. Championship playoff games will be held Monday.
In the first game, Philly took a 7-0 halftime lead and got standout goaltending from Shannon Nee (Manheim Township rising senior), who had nine saves. In the second game, D.C. broke open a 7-4 game by dominating the second half play.
