Ridley won the LaxWorld/STX Invitational team camp championship at McDaniel College (Md.), defeating Maryland Lacrosse Club, 4-2.
To reach the finals, Ridley avenged an earlier loss to Central Maryland Lacrosse, 7-5, and a young Georgetown Prep, 7-2. During Pool play, Ridley beat Corning (N.Y.) and New Trier (IL) to advance to the playoffs.
Anchoring the defense were Matt Ward (26 GBs, 23 CT’s), Nick Eufrasio (10 GB’s, 6 CT’s) and John Saunders, while Tommy McDermott (60 saves) played strong in the goal. Offensively for Ridley, Mike Crowley (eight goals), Kyle Bush (five goals, six assists), Kelton Heverly (five goals, eight assists), Dalton George (eight goals) and Jimmy Gormley (five goals) carried the scoring, and Brian Sinex (26 of 31, 84 percent) gave Ridley the edge on face-offs.
