The St. Joseph’s Prep Lacrosse Program is holding an Alumni Game Friday that also will include a post game reception to honor the late Pat Byrnes.
The post-game benefit will raise money for the 28 Club Inc.
The 28 Club, Inc. was founded to memorialize Pat Byrnes, SJP ’05, whose Prep jersey bearing that number was retired by his coaches and teammates following his untimely death in 2004. Pat’s love of lacrosse inspired his family and friends to establish a fund to support the development of the sport at St. Aloysius Academy and St. Joe’s Prep.
The schedule for the day is as follows:
Alumni Game at Edgely Field, 4001 Edgely Rd, Phila Pa 19131 starts at 1 PM. This game is free and open to the public. Players will include SJP alums Stephen O’Hara ’10 (Notre Dame), Brendan Glynn ’09 (Drexel), Colin Fleming ’09 (UMASS), Jeff Heath ’11 (Delaware) and a host of others. Even year grads will play against the Odd year grads.
The Alumni Game reception takes place at McFadden’s, 461 North 3rd St, Phila Pa. The reception will include a silent auction and raffle.
Entry fee is $25 per person, with food and drink provided from 4 pm – 6 pm. All proceeds benefit the 28 Club, Prep Lacrosse and St. Aloysius Lacrosse.
