Emily Solenberger had five goals and two assists and Ashley Poli contributed four gals and two assists while Linnea Faccenda scored four goals and Kelly Devlin reached 200 career goals to help Downingtown East rout Cocalico, 19-4, Saturday in the quarterfinals of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) tournament at Gov. Mifflin High.
The District 1 champion Cougars (24-1) will meet Ches-Mont League foe Great Valley in the semifinals Tuesday at Harriton High at 4 p.m. Great Valley advanced with an 11-10 overtime victory over Springfield-Delco. Downingtown East, the Ches-Mont champ, defeated Great Valley, 9-7, during the regular season.
Devlin had three goals to hit her milestone and Nicole Barretta added two goals and two assists for Downingtown East, which led, 12-3, at halftime.
Cocalico, the District 3 runner-up, finishes at 18-5.
