Three Top 8 seeds fell in the District 1 tournament last week, scrambling the rankings and helping three teams enter the Top 10 that had not been there all year.

This week’s rankings:

1, Downingtown East (20-1) – The Cougars, who have the No. 1 seed in District 1, face a stern test Tuesday against No. 5 seed and second-ranked Springfield-Delco at Henderson at 4 p.m. Prev: No. 1

2, Springfield-Delco (19-2) – The Central League quad-champion Cougars earned a clutch 13-12 win over Harriton to make the Final Four. They’ll need to at least duplicate that effort to beat Downingtown East. Prev: No. 2

3. Garnet Valley (19-2) – The third-seeded and Central League quad-champion Jaguars face Great Valley Tuesday in the semifinals at Henderson at 6 p.m. Prev: No. 3

4, Great Valley (19-1) – The second-seeded Patriots play Garnet Valley in the semifinals Tuesday at Henderson at 6 p.m. Prev: No. 5

5, Episcopal Academy (14-4) – EA clinched its seventh straight Inter-Ac League championship and meets Penn Charter today at Eastern University (5:30 p.m.) for the PA Independent School championship. Prev: No. 7

6, Archbishop Carroll (15-3) – The Patriots shoot for their 11 straight Catholic League title and a berth in the PIAA tourney Tuesday when they play Archbishop Wood at 6 p.m. at Neumann University. Prev: No. 6

7, Harriton (18-3) – The Central League quad-champion Rams hope to bounce from their heartbreaking loss to Springfield-Delco as they meet Upper Dublin in a playback game Tuesday at Plymouth Whitemarsh (4 p.m.). Prev: No. 4

8. Boyertown (18-5) – The PAC-10 champion Bears advanced to the quarterfinals of District 1 tourney with a win over Conestoga and then gave Great Valley a battle before bowing, 17-15, in the quarters. They play Council Rock North Tuesday in the playbacks. Prev: NR

9, Notre Dame (13-4) – The Irish will have to settle for the bridesmaid position once again in the Inter-Ac after yet another one-goal loss to Episcopal Academy. Prev: No. 9

Tie – 10. Council Rock North (16-3) – The Indians broke into the rankings with their memorable 16-15 victory over two-time defending state champion Radnor. They play Boyertown in the playbacks uesday and need to win once in two outings to make states. Prev: NR

Tie – 10 Upper Dublin (16-5) – The Cardinals earned a ticket to their first quarterfinal round in years by upending North Penn in the quarterfinals. After Saturday’s 12-6 loss to Downingtown East they play Harriton in the playbacks Tuesday at PW (4 p.m.). Prev: NR

Honorable Mention: Archbishop Wood (13-5), Conestoga (12-7), Haverford High (12-8), Hatboro-Horsham (16-3), Merion Mercy (15-5), North Penn (18-2), Radnor (14-6), Strath Haven (12-7), Villa Maria Academy (15-4)
