While Downingtown East kept its hold on the top spot, the Central League race became tighter than ever when Harriton dealt Radnor its first loss.

This week’s rankings:

1, Downingtown East (15-1) –
The Cougars can clinch the Ches-Mont title and a possible top seed in the District 1 tourney by defeating West Chester east Tuesday and Unionville Thursday. Prev: No. 1

2, Springfield-Delco (13-2) –
The Cougars – one of four teams with two league losses – can cause a serious logjam atop the Central League with a win over visiting Radnor (in first place with one loss) Tuesday. Prev: No. 5

3. Garnet Valley (14-2) – The Jaguars must defeat Lower Merion today and Conestoga Thursday to keep their Central League title hopes alive. Prev: No. 4

4, Harriton (14-2) – The Rams must defeat Haverford High Tuesday and Upper Darby Thursday to keep their Central League title hopes alive. Prev: No. 8

5, Radnor (12-3) – The Red Raiders can clinch at least a share of their fourth straight Central League title Tuesday by defeating host Springfield-Delco. If they lose there could end up being a four-way tie for the title. They also have a league finale at Penncrest Thursday after playing at Archbishop Carroll on Wednesday. Prev: No. 3

6, Great Valley (14-1) – The Patriots had an impressive 12-7 win over Conestoga Saturday. Their only blemish is a 9-7 loss to Downingtown East. Prev: No. 7

7, Episcopal Academy (10-4) – EA hosts Germantown Academy Thursday and plays at Penn Charter Friday as it tries to maintain its hold on first place in the Inter-Ac League Prev: No. 6

8, Archbishop Carroll (12-3) – The Patriots – who have dropped non-league games to the No. 1 and No. 2 squads – get another chance to beat a top District 1 squad when they host Radnor on Wednesday. Prev: No. 2

9, Notre Dame (10-3) – The Irish host Springside today and Agnes Irwin Tuesday in Inter-Ac games. Prev: No. 9

10. North Penn (16-1) – The Maidens can finish undefeated in the Suburban One Continental Conference with a win at Pennridge in Tuesday. Prev: No. 10

Under Consideration: Boyertown (14-4), Conestoga (9-5), Council Rock North (11-2), Hatboro-Horsham (12-2), Strath Haven (10-5), Villa Maria Academy (14-3).
