Philly girls excel in first day of games at US Lacrosse All-American Showcase in Florida

Philly girls made key contributions as action began today in the US Lacrosse Champion All-American Showcase at Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Four All-Star teams consisting of many of the top senior girls in the nation are playing a round robin tourney that continues until Tuesday.

In today’s action, Baldwin School’s Sloan Warren (signed with Virginia) had four goals and an assist to help Team Spirit down Team Freedom, 22-16. Delaware state champion Cape Henlopen’s Meg Bartley (Virginia Tech) had a goal and an assist and Downingtown East’s Kelly Devlin (North Carolina) had one goal for Freedom.

In the other game, Team Pride defeated Team Liberty, 23-17 as Hill School’s Callie Francis (Duke) had a goal and an assist and Downingtown East’s and US U-19 team member Allie Murray (Notre Dame) made three saves in goal in the first half.

For Liberty, Harriton’s Carli Sukonik (Lehigh) had one goal.

The boys’ games begin Tuesday.
