Great Valley senior defenseman/LSM Stephen Amoriello has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Eastern University.
Stephen Amoriello log:
Player name: Stephen Amoriello
High school: Great Valley High School
Graduation year: 2012
Position: Defense/LSM
College choice: Eastern University
Club affiliation: Next Level One
Major lacrosse honors: Rising Senior at Blue Chip 225, 2nd Team All-Ches-Mont selection 2011.
What will you major in/study: Undecided
Why did you choose school: “Eastern was a great fit both academically and athletically. When I went for my visit I was really impressed with their campus and their location. It’s right where I wanted to be; a rural surrounding, but close enough to get into the city and other attractions of the Philadelphia area. Besides the school and the area I was very impressed with Coach (Kevin) Wallace. His philosophy towards coaching, his aggressive play, and his determination to win was a huge factor.”
Outlook for your high school team: “We have huge expectations for the upcoming season. We plan on returning to the playoffs and going even further than last year. We are returning the strength of our defense with three D1 commits and have a number of key offensive players returning also.”
Other comments: “I would like to thank my parents who have helped me accomplish this. And I would also like to thank my high school coach Tony Verna, and my summer coaches Kevin Gallagher, Brian Ikeda, and Rob Peckheiser.”
