Two more Philly junior boys have committed to Division I colleges in the region as the high school recruiting scene continues to heat up.
Malvern Prep defenseman Jared Horoski has committed to Delaware and St. Augustine Prep (N.J.) defenseman Nate Gorman has committed to Villanova.
Horoski, who made the Gait Fab 40 team at the Philly Showcase and played in the EPSLA Showcase last year, is the fourth Malvern Prep junior to commit to a Division I college. The others are goalie Matt Barrett (Virginia), midfielder Joey Carlini (Johns Hopkins) and defenseman Chad Rafferty (Maryland). The Friars also have six D1 recruits in the senior class.
Gorman, also a Philly Showcase Gait Fab 40 pick last year who played for Team New Jersey at the Under Armour Underclassmen Games, helped the Hermits reach the Non-Public Group A state finals for the second straight year.
St. Augustine, like Malvern Prep, is expected to be a highly-ranked team this year. The Hermits have three juniors (including defenseman Adam Monticello, Loyola; and midfielder Michael Sutton, Penn State) committed to Division I programs and six seniors committed to D1 teams.
