Bridgewater-Raritan senior midfielder Ray Mastroianni signed a National Letter of Intent to play Division I lacrosse next year at Lehigh University.
Mastroianni helped lead Bridgewater-Raritan to the New Jersey Tournament of Champions title with a 6-5 victory over Summit in June. The Panthers, who went 20-2 and also won the Group IV state crown, ended Summit’s 68-game win streak with the victory.
The Panthers were ranked in the Top 20 in the nation by Under Armour, ESPN Rise, LaxPower, and MaxPreps.
Mastroianni, who plays club lacrosse for 2 Knights, received Second Team All-State honors. He also is the starting quarterback for Bridgewater-Raritan’s football team.
He maintains a 4.0 GPA/High Honor Roll, and has participated in community service for several years with United Way of New Jersey. Mastroianni is one of several top players from New Jersey and the Philly region to sign with head coach Kevin Cassese’s Mountain Hawks.
The early signing period for Division I and II student-athletes in lacrosse runs until Wednesday. Players can send in their signing pictures to golax@phillylacrosse.com.
