Keystone Games: Bucks County claims bronze in Sr division

For the second year in a row Bucks County captured the bronze medal in the Sr division at the Keystone Games last weekend at Penn State.

Bucks defeated Lehigh Valley, 11-2, for the third-place medal, after falling to eventual champion Blue Mountain in the semifinals.

The Bucks team started off slowly in pool play, dropping the first game, 8-6 to a much improved Capital East. Bucks rebounded a 6-5 win against traditional contender Delco North. Bucks team then tied the silver medalist, York County, in a physical 5-5 deadlock.

Bucks finished strong with a 7-3 win over Western PA. All four Saturday games were division matchups and secured the Bucks team the second seed and a berth to the medal rounds.

The 2011 Bucks County squad was comprised of members of eight different high school programs and several club teams including Select Lacrosse and Twist Lacrosse. The team and staff would like to thank those coaches and parents for their support. The coaches were Matt Coverald (Central Bucks West) and Bruce Bracia (Central Bucks East).
