Matt Walters scored three goals and Carl Walrath had two goals and five assists as host Haverford School pulled away after a tight first period and coasted to a 15-04 victory today over Hill School in the quarterfinals of the Inter-Ac Invitational.

The win boosted the top-seeded Fords (21-0) into the semifinals Saturday against Lawrenceville School (N.J.) at Cabrini College at 5 p.m. Lawrenceville toppled Bullis School (Md.), 9-5, today at Cabrini.
Hill School (8-8) played a standout first period and kept the game tied until late in the stanza. The Fords then erupted for four goals and led, 5-2, after the period.
“The offense did a really good job of moving the ball today, getting open against their zone, and taking shots,” said Walrath. “We really placed the ball and took our time in the offensive zone.”
Brendan McGrath and Grove Stewart each scored twice for Haverford School while Will Gural had a goal and an assist and won 8 of 11 face-offs. Joe McCallion won 9 of 11 face-offs.
Duncan Saunders recorded 15 saves to lead Hill School and Ted Wolter paced the attack with two goals.
