Duke’s Lacrosse Club holding tryouts on Sunday at Haverford College

The Duke’s Lacrosse Club will hold its 2011-2012 season tryouts on Sunday, Oct.23 at Haverford College. The tournament season begins this month.

The details:

*A Completed New Player Sheet is required if one was not turned in at the Ricky Whelan Clinics.

*Players are to bring a reversible pinney of any kind with Dark and Light sides.

*Players are to be properly outfitted with all equipment – helmet, stick, gloves, pads and footware to play on turf fields.

*If paying by check make it out to Duke’s Lacrosse. Note: Any player making the Duke’s Team out of tryouts will have his $35. Fees go toward uniform costs.

*Pre-Registration with all needed items listed above will take place at the Haverford College Turf Fields 1 hour before each group is scheduled to tryout. The groupings and times are as follows:

–Pre-Register 11 am–All Soph’s, Juniors & Seniors–Tryout Time from 12 noon to 1:30 pm.
–Pre-Register 12 noon –All Freshmen –Tryout time from 1:45 pm to 3:30 pm.
–Pre Register 1 pm –All 6th, 7th & 8th graders –Tryout Time from 3:45 pm to 5:15 pm.

Note: 6th, 7th & 8th graders will be trying out for Duke’s HHH Program and those tryouts may be ongoing.

The Duke’s LC has a history for over a decade of helping prepare student-athletes for major college institutions. As seen on the Duke’s alumni page, all 32 of 32 players in 2009 and ALL 42 of 42 players in 2010 are attending college and playing Lacrosse.

The Duke’s program has produced over 50 High School All-Americans, 31 College All-Americans and has had over 20 players make it to professional lacrosse.
