District 1 girls’ lacrosse: Top-seeded Downingtown East defeats Upper Dublin, 12-6

Ashley Poli had four goals and two assists as top-seeded Downingtown East defeated Upper Dublin, 12-6, today in the quarterfinals of the District 1 girls’ lacrosse tournament at West Chester East.

The Cougars (20-1) advance the semifinals Tuesday to meet the winner of today’s Harriton-Springfield-Delco quarterfinal game. Upper Dublin will play the Harriton-Springfield-Delco loser in a playback game Tuesday.

Kelly Devlin scored three goals and McKenzie Rafferty added two goals and an assist while Allie Murray made 13 saves for the Cougars.

Kelly Cross led Upper Dublin (16-5) with four goals and Brooke Callahan added a goal and an assist while Taylor D’Ginto scored once and Anna Lauer made nine saves.
