Goalie Jared Novia scored the game’s first goal and excelled in the cage with 22 saves to lead visiting Spring-Ford to a stunning 8-6 victory over Garnet Valley Thursday night in a District 1 boys’ lacrosse playoff game.
The win vaulted the 11th-seeded Rams (20-2) into Saturday’s quarterfinals against third-seeded Downingtown West at Harriton High at noon. Garnet Valley, the No. 6 seed, closed its season at 15-5.
Drew Thomas poured in four goals and Paul Major added three assists for the Rams, who used a 4-2 second-half scoring advantage to reverse a 5-4 halftime deficit.
