Chestnut Hill Academy head boys’ lacrosse coach Mike Delgrande, who was coach at Maryland prep power Bullis School for 20 years before coming to CHA last year, was recently inducted into the Potomac Chapter of the US Lacrosse Hall of Fame.
Delgrande worked 22 years overall at Bullis, also serving as athletic director for some of the time.
Chestnut Hill went 7-10 last year and scored big wins over Hun School (N.HJ.) and Archbishop Curley (Md.)
The Hall of Fame award citation said, “Mike was well respected by his players and fellow coaches for his character-forming discipline, his preparation, his indefatigable work ethic, and his commitment to fairness, truth, and communication,” according to a Hall of Fame citation. “His dedication and love for the game of lacrosse was infectious.
“He developed lasting relationships while providing support and guidance toward the balanced development of young men who played lacrosse for him at Bullis and the area youth programs for over twenty years.”
