Bucks Select is an elite, summer travel tournament lacrosse program open to all boys and girls in Bucks County, all surrounding counties, and the Lehigh Valley. Its coaching staff includes high school coaches from 13 different Philadelphia area high school programs and youth coaches from nine different programs from SEPYLA, PAGLA and the Lehigh Valley Youth League.

“Our program focuses on developing elite high school players who want to compete at the highest level in the summer and the fall so that they have an advantage in the NCAA recruiting process and during their high school season, and our youth teams focus on developing players who will excel in youth, high school and college lacrosse,” said Paul McGovern, Director of Bucks Select Lacrosse.

McGovern added, “We compete in some of the best boys and girls recruiting tournaments in the country, including King of the Hill, Rutgers MVP, Crab City Challenge, Battle of the Hotbeds, Charm City Classic, All American Showcase, National Draw and All Star Express because our players and coaches want to compete against other elite clubs and also because those tournaments attract college coaches from all over the United States.

“We give our players individual recruiting assistance by working with them to develop their own personal year round recruiting plan and providing opportunities to sit down with college coaches at our annual college lacrosse recruiting seminar.”

The Bucks Select teams enjoyed success on the field this past summer, with 2011 summer tournament champions at the Charm City Classic, Lehigh Laxfest and Sweet Laxin (where their 2016, 2017 and 2018 boys’ teams all won championships and the 2014 boys’ team was a finalist). Their boys’ teams also represent Bucks County in the annual Keystone Games tournament at Penn State University, where they won the bronze medal in the U-19 and U-15 division this summer.

“Our youth teams compete in some of the best youth tournaments including Lehigh Laxfest, Summer Slam, Sweet Laxin, Summer Sizzle and Patriot Games so that they can play against the best competition in the United States. We also focus on attending a lot of great tournaments that are close to home so that families aren’t spending every summer weekend in a hotel room in Maryland or on Long Island,” McGovern said.
