Editor’s Note: honors the girls’ players from Philly for the 2011 season. The teams were chosen after much discussion with coaches and other media members. The major considerations were player performance and how much the players helped their teams succeed. Tomorrow: High Honorable Mention

US Lacrosse Honorable Mention All-American, Catholic League First Team … Led Patriots to 11th straight Catholic League championship and berth in state quarterfinals …Committed to Brown.

Maggie Forker, Episcopal Academy, Senior
Inter-Ac League First Team … Led EA to Inter-Ac, PA Independent Schools championships … Signed with Vanderbilt.

Michelle Gildea, Sprimngfield-Delco, Junior
Central League Second Team … Led Cougars to share of Central League title and District 1 semifinals as well as state quarterfinals … Committed to Towson.

Catherine Layne, Villa Maria Academy, Senior
Athletic Association of Catholic Academies First Team … Led Hurricanes to league finals and District 1 playoffs …Signed with Penn State.

Emily Pillion, Conestoga, Junior
Central League First Team … Led Pioneers to second round of District 1 playoffs … Committed to James Madison.


Annie Woehling, Radnor, Senior
Under Armour, US Lacrosse All-American, Academic All-American, Central League First Team … Made 157 saves … Led Red Raiders to share of fourth straight Central League championship … Will play at Princeton.

Allie Murray Downingtown East, Senior
Under Armour, US Lacrosse All-American, Ches-Mont League First Team … Led Cougars to Ches-Mont title and first District 1 championship, as well as berth in state finals … Member of U-19 team playing now in Hannover, Germany … Signed with Notre Dame.

Karen Hayde, Phoenixville, Senior
Pioneer Athletic Conference First Team … Led Phantoms to the PAC-10 Frontier Division championship … Save percentage was close to 60 percent … Signed with Old Dominion University.
