Woehling (Radnor) listed as nation’s top senior goalie, three other Philly girls make ESPN RISE Top 20

Radnor’s Annie Woehling has been listed as the nation’s top senior goalie and three other Philly girls are in the Top 20 by ESPN RISE in its first girls’ installment of “On The RISE.”

The weekly features run through the top senior players at every position. The past two months were focused on the boys.

Also listed are Downingtown East’s Allie Murray {No. 5}, Downingtown East’s Marya Fratoni {No. 8} and Council Rock South’s Taylor Hurwitz {No. 19}.

Woehling, who has committed to Princeton, helped Radnor win its second straight Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) championship last year. A First Team US Lacrosse All-American and Academic All-American, she also was an pick.

Murray, who has committed to Notre Dame, was chosen this summer to play on the U19 National Training Team. Murray was an pick last year when she led the Cougars to a fifth-place finish in the District 1 tournament and a berth in the state tournament.

Both Woehling and Murray played for the Philly team in the Under Armour Underclassmen games during the summer.

Fratoni, who has committed to Navy, also played time in goal last year for Downingtown East. She also plays attack and was a member of the 2009 Philly Under Armour team.

Hurwitz was a First Team Suburban One National Conference pick last year who has committed to New Hampshire.

Also, No. 14 pick Lauren Knight, of Roland Park, Md., is headed to La Salle; and No. 17 pick Jaquelyn Kakalecik, of Hunterdon Centra, N.J., has committed to Temple.
