The Philadelphia Wings have traded face-off standout and assistant captain Geoff Snider to the Calgary Roughnecks for a first round pick (No. 8 overall) in the Orlando Titans dispersal draft being held today.
Snider was the top face-off man in the National Lacrosse League last year, winning an NLL-record 295 of 390 draws in the 2010 season. He also set a league mark with 245 loose balls.
Snider, picked by the Wings fourth overall in the 2007 NLL Draft, is from Calgary and has represented Canada at the last two World Lacrosse Championships.
The 29-year-old graduate of Denver scored 19 goals and added 22 assists for the Wings last season. He also amassed 280 penalty minutes during his four year career with the Wings.
