Wednesday’s scholastic girls’ roundup: Carroll tops Notre Dame; Boyertown survives scare

Aimee Gennaro scored five goals and Hannah Schmitt added three as host Archbishop Carroll topped Notre Dame Academy, 14-7, today in a non-league girls’ lacrosse game involving two teams in the PA Media Rankings.

Sixth-ranked Carroll improved to 10-4 while 10th-ranked Notre Dame fell to 9-4.

Margo Lesher added two goals for the Patriots and Kristen Bandos led the Irish with three goals while Bree Buysse added a pair of goals.

Owen J. Roberts 11, Perkiomen Valley 9

Nicole Miller had four goals to lead the Wildcats to the PAC-10 win.

Katie Young poured in six tallies for the Vikings.

Boyertown 9, Methacton 8

Lindsay Clinton made 17 saves and Rachel Engler and Sam Kochey each had three goals while Emily Austerberry added two goals and two assists as the Bears survived a scare to win their 91st straight PAC-10 game.

Sara Watro had three goals for Methacton.

Downingtown West 20, Germantown Academy 8

Kellyn Warren collected six goals and five assists and Eva Winiarski had five goals and two assists while Jaymie Tabor added four goals and two assists for the Whippets in the non-league win.

Caroline Haynie paced GA with three goals and an assist and Isabel Mann made 17 saves.

Jenkintown 18, Nazareth 11

Carolyn Smith had seven goals and one assist to power the Drakes to the victory.

Norristown 13, U. Moreland 9

Charmaze Banks notched four goals, Janelle Scruggs had three goals and one assists and Bev Pate had two goals and two assists to help the Eagles gain the Suburban One American Conference win.

Taylor Foxworth added two goals for Norristown. Lily Smith led the Bears with three goals and an assist while Alexa Schuck and Kelly Garis each scored two goals.

Souderton 19, Spring-Ford 8

Liz Mower had five goals and four assists and Danielle Notvest collected four goals and one assist while Lindsay Walbrandt added three goals and one assist for the Indians in the non-league win.

Council Rock North 15, Central Bucks East 7

Sophomore Hannah Plappert tallied six goals and surpassed the 100-goal plateau for the Indians. Kara Magley added five goals and Molly Doyle contributed a hat trick for the Indians in their non-conference win.
