Spring-Ford senior midfielder Marisa Moley has been named the United Sports Scholastic Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
Moley is on the distinguished Honor Roll and will attend Temple University where she plans to major in dentistry.
“I had braces and my mother is a secretary in the office so I have been around that environment a lot,” said Moley. “I think I would like helping younger children with their braces.
“I chose Temple because I like being in the city and there’s lots to do. Plus, the school has a great dentistry program; it’s strong in the medial field.”
Moley did not start playing lacrosse until 10th grade, but she became a key contributor that year for a Rams team that made it to the Pioneer Athletic Conference championship game.
“She never picked up a stick until sophomore year,” said Spring-Ford coach Kori McDaniel. “She has a lot of raw talent and is the unspoken leader of the team.”
