Tuesday’s District 1 boys’ playbacks: CB East, Lower Merion to play for fifth place

Matt Brodzik scored three goals, Alex Fetterman had two goals and one assist and Ben Auteri added a pair while Harrison Holak made 19 saves as Central Bucks East earned a 9-6 victory over Suburban One rival Hatboro-Horsham Tuesday in a District 1 boys’ lacrosse playback game at Plymouth Whitemarsh.

The win moves the fourth-seeded Patriots into the fifth-place game Thursday against Lower Merion at Radnor at 6 p.m. Lower Merion edged Radnor, 9-8 and along with the Patriots clinched a Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association playoff berth.

The Pats seized a 6-2 halftime lead as Conor McSherry and Chris Vetter each added a goal and an assist.

Eddie Coombs led the Hatters with three goals. and Ryan Kreston had a goal and an assist.

Lower Merion 9, Radnor 8

The Aces guaranteed themselves a PIAA berth as Ahmad Zachary collected four goals and two assists and Jordan Wolf had two goals and three assists.

John Zeidman added a pair of goals and Joey Shallow scored once.

For Radnor, Ben Junior supplied nearly all the offense, notching six goals.
