Taylor Trimble collected five goals, six groundballs and five draw controls and Blake McHugh had five goals, six groundballs and one assist as host Episcopal Academy claimed a 13-12 victory over previously-undefeated Notre Dame Academy today.
The win moves EA (5-4, 4-1) one-half game behind first-place Penn Charter. Notre Dame (5-1,3-1) entered play ranked No. 5 in the PA Media Rankings.
Alex Buckley added three goals and one assist for EA while Ashley McCormick had eight groundballs and four draw controls and Claire McManus added two interceptions. Jennie Minnick made 13 saves and Libby Eyre had a strong defensive game.
Notre Dame (5-1, 3-1) led, 7-4, at halftime, but EA outscored the Irish 9-4 and led, 13-11, when Trimble scored with six minutes to play.
Kristen Bandos, Katie Blumenthal, Bridget Burns and Katie Hagen each had two goals for Notre Dame.
