Scholastic girls’ roundup: Solenberger leads Downingtown East past Boyertown

Emily Solenberger erupted for eight goals and two assists as Downingtown East defeated Boyertown, 20-13, today in non-league girls’ lacrosse.

Kelly Devlin added five goals and an assist and Julianne Jochym had three goals and two assists while Christine Stevenson scored twice for the Cougars (3-0).

Raelynn Mikell led the Bears (1-2) with five goals and Rachel Engler added four.

Unionville 14, Penncrest 7

Julie Moran and Lindsey Smith each had four goals and an assist and Melissa Lloyd made 10 saves for the Indians (2-0).

Caroline Moore had four goals for Penncrest.

Archbishop Wood 18, Mount St. Joseph 12

CaitlynMcCartney poured in seven goals as the Vikings outscored the Mount, 11-2, in the second half.

Lizzie Tillger and Tara Beppel each had four goals for the Mount (1-2).

Souderton 15, Council Rock South 8

Danielle Notvest pumped in four goals and Kirstin Russell added three goals and two assists to power the Indians (3-0). Christine Besselman led the Golden Hawks with three goals.

Pottstown 13, Plymouth Whitemarsh 4

Kasey Mock collected seven goals and two assists and Amanda Krok had three goals and two assists as the Trojans evened their mark at 1-1.

Villa Joseph Marie 14, Conwell-Egan 2

Marylee Mahony collected six goals and an assist to lead VJM to the easy win.

Archbishop Pendergast 12, Penn Wood 5

Kathy Flanagan collected five goals and two assists to pace Prendie.

Upper Perkiomen 17, Pottsgrove 8

Leah High and Jenny Pierson each scored five goals for the Indians (2-0-1), who won their first PAC-10 game since the 2008 season.

Rachelle Mewshaw and Becca Doletti had three goals each and Ashley Delaney added two for Pottsgrove.
