The Haverford School is now 1 for 2 in its battle against Baltimore boys’ lacrosse powers.
After defeating the No. 2-ranked scholastic team in the nation in its opener Friday, the Fords suffered their first loss, 8-6, to Loyola-Blakefield this afternoon.
Liam O’Connor led the Fords with two goals and Carl Walrath added a goal and an assist.
Haverford School downed MIAA power St. Paul’s, 13-9, on Friday at home. That win vaulted the Fords to the No. 2 spot in the LaxGuys’ National Rankings. St. Paul’s had been No. 2 in the Under Armour/Inside Lacrosse and LaxGuys’ rankings before the defeat.
The Fords will play two more Baltimore heavyweights in the next week. They host McDonogh Saturday at 1 p.m. and host Gilman School on March 24.
