Scholastic boys: Haverford School downs Episcopal Academy, 12-6, in Inter-Ac League

Stephen Aitken scored three goals and had one assist and Brendan McGrath tallied three goals as visiting Haverford School claimed a 12-6 victory over Episcopal Academy today in a battle of Inter-Ac League powers.

The win moved Haverford School (11-3, ranked No. 1 in PA Media Rankings) into a tie for first place with the Churchmen (No. 5 in Media Rankings) at 2-1. The Fords were coming off a league defeat to Malvern Prep.

EA fell to 9-3.

Grove Stewart added two goals for the Fords, who led, 7-3, at halftime, and 11-4, after three periods.

Conor Kelly (8 saves) and Colin Heffernan (4 saves) shared the goaltending duties.

Shane Morrell led the Churchmen with two goals.
