Abington waited a while to open its much-anticipated 2010 boys’ lacrosse season – but it was well worth it.
The host Ghosts opened their season Thursday by routing Golden (CO) 13-1 behind a balanced attack and a suffocating defense.
Goalie Jesse McGinley held Golden scoreless for nearly three quarters and Anthony Greco led the defense for a team ranked No. 10 in the Pa Media Lacrosse Rankings,
Joey Jones (signed with Hofstra) had three goals and three assists for the Ghosts and Ryan Ambler had two goals and four assists. Matt Rambo had three goals and an assist and Nick Pisko had three goals. Matt Figueroa added two goals and an assist and Eric Berger had two assists.
