Saturday’s Philly girls’ roundup: EA tops Hatters, GV remains undefeated, Shipley’s Stokes reaches 200 career goals

Alexa Buckley had five goals and Taylor Trimble added three goals, an assist and three draw controls as host Episcopal Academy defeated Hatboro-Horsham 17-8.

The win improved EA’s record to 10-5. The Hatters fell to 4-4.

Blake McHugh, Lynda Michaels and Katie Fell each had two goals and Libby Eyre contributed six groundballs and one goal while Tori Spofford had five groundballs and Jennie Minnick posted 14 saves.

For Hatboro-Horsham, Lauren Purvis scored four goals and added three assists.

Great Valley 14, Boyertown 5

Colleen O’Malley netted six goals and Jess Nawojski added three as the Patriots improved to 13-0 by downing the Bears (9-4) in a non-league game.

Ali Karwoski and Sara McBride each scored two goals for the Pats and Jenna Morris had seven saves.

Wyoming Seminary 15, Shipley 14

Tara Stokes tallied seven goals and three assists and reached a major milestone by scoring the 200th of her career for the Gators (5-7) in the non-league loss.

Stokes, who has signed with Duke, now has 203 career goals. Also contributing to the offense was junior Brie Blumenthal with four goals and two assists, junior Kelley Hardon with three goals and senior Jill Keeney with two assists.

Senior goalie Ali Piltch had 10 saves.

Ridley 11, Abington 10 (OT)

Sam Bartow had four goals and notched the game-winner in overtime while Kelsey Yori also scored four times as the Green Raiders earned the non-league win.

Courtney Cox scored six goals for the Ghosts.

Peddie School (NJ) 16, Archbishop Wood 10

Caitlyn McCartney had five goals and two assists and Nicole Hayes added two goals and two assists for the Vikings in the non-league defeat.
