Saturday’s girls’ roundup: Great Valley remains undefeated by downing Conestoga

Jess Nawojski scored six goals and Sara McBride added four while Colleen O’Malley had three to lift host undefeated Great Valley to a 16-10 victory over rival Conestoga today in non-lague girls’ lacrosse.

The Ches-Mont League-leading Patriots, ranked No. 4 in the PA Media Rankings, improved to 16-0. Conestoga fell to 10-7.

Megan McGillis led the Pioneers with four goals and Britta Hjelm added two goals and an assist.

Gwynedd Mercy Academy 16, Lansdale Catholic 9

Jamie Bumgardner had five goals and Cait Bashwiner made 10 saves to lead Gwynedd to the non-league win. Katie Gillespie had four goals for LC.

Harriton 16, Abington Friends 2

Junior Carli Sukonik had five goals, including the 200th of her career, and Jess Schwab added three goals and three assists while Betsy Hurtado had two goals and three assists for the Rams in the non-league win.

Unionville 21, Marple Newtown 1

Julie Moran had four goals and an assist and Lisa Riondet added three goals and an assist and notched her 100th career goal for the Indians.

Abington 16, Central Bucks East 8

Courtney Enderle had five goals and one assist and Courtney Cox: added four goals, two assists and six draw controls while Molly Seefried: added four goals and four draw controls to lift the Ghosts. To the non-league win.

Merion Mercy 12, Mount St. Joseph 6

Bonnie McShane and Emily Corcoran had four goals each and Casey Rooney had eight assists as the Bears finished undefeated in the regular season of the Association of Catholic Academies.

Merion Mercy hosts Sacred Heart in the first round of the league playoffs Monday.
