Junior Joey Sankey scored the game-winner with 36 seconds to play as host Penn Charter rallied from a 5-1 halftime deficit to defeat Hill School, 9-8, Tuesday in scholastic boys’ lacrosse at Drexel’s Vidas Field.
Sankey (committed to North Carolina) had three goals and four assists and Tyler White added three goals, including the tally that tied the game with 1:37 to play for the Quakers (1-1). Shane Carr and Andy Grabowski each added two goals for PC while Grant Guyer had a goal and an assist.
Grabowski also had the key assist on the game-tying goal Long stick midfielder Tom Monzo (longpole) did strong job of neutralizing the face-offs in second half.
Hill (0-2) got two goals from Eric Neumeyer in the first half and strong offense from PJ Mara. The defensive unit of George Cornelson, Tom Shade and Gabe Walker also was strong in front of goalie Tyler Himes.
