Stephanie Finley, a senior midfielder at Country Day School of the Sacred Heart, signed a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday to attend James Madison University as a student-athlete playing Division 1 lacrosse.
Finley is a four-year varsity starter for Sacred Heart and was named a captain last year. She was awarded the team MVP after scoring 76 goals last year and also led her team in scoring as a sophomore. She was an all-league pick in the Athletic Association of Catholic Academies each of the past two years.
Finley also is a member of the Phantastix Lacrosse Club Team. Besides lacrosse, she has played field hockey and tennis for Sacred Heart. An academic honors student, she was inducted into the National Honor Society in October.
JMU was ranked among the top 10 teams in the nation, won the Colonial Athletic Association title with an undefeated record and advanced to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Division 1 Lacrosse Championships last year.
Finley is one of nearly 100 Philly seniors expected to sign National Letters of Intent for Division I and Division II colleges during the early signing period Nov. 10-17. To get your signing picture posted on Phillylacrosse.com, e-mail us at golax@phillylacrosse.com.
