The Ridley Township Old Timers Association recently inducted its first class of women in its Hall of Fame and honored lacrosse legends Amy (Fromal) Austin and Jackie (Devenney) Neary.

Also inducted was men’s lacrosse player and coach Jeff Murray.

Austin (Ridley High, Class of 1995) was a standout in lacrosse and field hockey and starred in field hockey at the University of Virginia. She graduated from Jefferson Medical College.

Neary, now the head coach at Cabrini College, was an All-American lacrosse player at Ridley and played for Temple University’s 1984 national championship team. She started the women’s lacrosse program at Cabrini and coached 13 straight conference championship teams. She also coached field hockey at Cabrini and was named conference coach of the year four times in lacrosse and twice in field hockey.

Murray helped Kean University to the ECAC lacrosse championship in 1995. He coached women’s lacrosse at Kean for a year, was a high school boys’ and girls’ lacrosse coach. Murray is an assistant coach with GMH Philadelphia, which this summer won the American Lacrosse League championship.
