Kelyn Freedman collected five goals and four assists and Courtney Campbell had five goals and one assist as Radnor bolted to an early 5-1 lead and coasted to a 20-12 victory Saturday over Downingtown East in the quarterfinals of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) girls’ lacrosse tournament.

The defending PIAA champions (24-1) will face fellow District 1 foe Unionville Tuesday in the semifinals at a site and time to be determined. Unionville advanced by handling Penn Manor, 21-9. Radnor defeated the Indians, 12-9, in the District 1 semifinals.

Downingtown East, the fifth seed out of District 1, finished at 19-6.

“It was a great win for our squad today,” said Radnor coach Phyllis Kilgour. “Kelyn Freedman and Courtney Campbell’s five goals were big and we have a potent offense with seven ladies that scored.”

Allie Martin added four goals and three assists for the Raiders while Ali Kelly and Amalia Antonoplos each scored twice. Ellie Kraus (two assists) and Natalie Miller each scored once while Annie Woehling made eight saves in goal.

The Raiders opened a 3-0 lead in the first two minutes of the game and stretched the advantage to 15-5 at halftime.

Emily Solenberger led the Cougars with five goals and one assist and Christine Stevenson added four goals.
