Episcopal Academy and Council Rock North moved into the Phillylacrosse.com Girls’ Rankings this week while Radnor held the top spot with a 17-14 victory over Archbishop Carroll.
1. Radnor (14-0) – The Red Raiders had to fend off a determined comeback effort by No. 7 Carroll in Friday’s 17-14 win. They play at Notre Dame Academy today and host Harriton Tuesday before traveling to Strath Haven Thursday in a key Central League matchup. (Prev: 1)
2. Springfield-Delco (13-0) – The Cougars host Upper Darby Tuesday and Ridley Thursday as they gear for the final week when they’ll meet No. 1 Radnor and No. 7 Archbishop Carroll. (Prev: 2)
3. Strath Haven (10-1) – The Panthers have a big week, hosting Conestoga Tuesday and No. 1 Radnor Thursday in a Central League showdown. (Prev: 3)
4. Great Valley (13-0) – The Patriots Host Bishop Shanahan Tuesday and Coatesville Thursday in Ches-Mont League games. Only an upset can prevent them winning the league outright in two weeks. (Prev: 5)
5. North Penn (12-0) – The Maidens have a tough non-league game today at home vs. Archbishop Wood and plat at Pennridge Tuesday. (Prev: 4)
6. Unionville (11-2) – The Indians reman a game behind Great Valley in the Ches-Mont and play at Sun Valley Tuesday while hosting Henderson Thursday. (Prev: 6)
7. Archbishop Carroll (8-4) – Again, give the Patriots points for giving No. 1 Radnor a battle in Friday’ 17-14 loss. All their losses are against major powers. After hosting Archbishop Prendergast Tuesday, they travel to Inter-Ac League power Notre Dame on Wednesday. (Prev: 7)
8. Upper Dublin (11-0) – The Cards all but clinched a Suburban One American Conference title with a key 11-6 triumph over second-place Wissahickon Friday. They host Cheltenham today and play at Plymouth Whitemarsh (Tuesday) and Upper Moreland (Thursday) later in the week. (Prev: 8)
9. Episcopal Academy (10-5) – EA had quality wins over Downingtown East (14-9) and Merion Mercy (17-11) last week as they wpn four in all. They host Germantown Academy Tuesday and Penn Charter Friday in Inter-Ac League games. (Prev: NR)
10. Notre Dame (9-2) – The Irish face as tough a week as possible. They host No. 1 Radnor today and No. 7 Archbishop Carroll Wednesday. They also play at 10-2 Hill School on Friday. (Prev: NR)
