The regular season ended for all leagues except the Inter-Ac League last week and the league champions include: Merion Mercy (Catholic Academies), Boyertown (Pioneer Athletic), Radnor, Springfield-Delco and Strath Haven (Central), Great Valley (Ches-Mont), Abington and Council Rock North (Suburban One National), North Penn (Suburban One Continental), Upper Dublin (Suburban One American) and George Washington (Public League).
This week, the Inter-Ac crown will be determined and the Friends Schools League and Pubic League hold their post-season tourneys. And, of course, The District 1 and District 12 (Catholic League) tourneys also open.
This week’s Phillylacrosse.com, Girls’ Rankings:
1. Radnor (17-1) – The Red Raiders get the nod as No. 1 team after rallying for a hard-fought 8-7 triumph over Springfield-Delco and a three-way tie for the Central League crown with the Cougars and Strath Haven. Radnor is the No. 1 seed in the District 1 tourney and hosts Owen J. Roberts on Tuesday (Prev: 3)
2. Springfield-Delco (16-1) – The Cougars won a share of the Central League crown and the No. 3 seed in districts. They host Central Bucks East in the first round Tuesday. (Prev: 1)
3. Strath Haven (15-1) – The Panthers earned a share of the Central League crown and the No. 4 seed in districts. They host Springfield-Montco in the first round Tuesday. (Prev: 2)
4. Great Valley (18-0) – The Patriots capped an 18-0 regular season with the Ches-Mont League crown and the No. 2 seed in the District 1 tourney. They host league rival West Chester East on Tuesday in the first round. (Prev: 4)
5. Unionville (16-2) – The Indians placed second in the Ches-Mont and earned the No. 5 seed in districts. They host league rival Bishop Shanahan in the first round. (Prev: 5)
6. Archbishop Carroll (12-5) – The Patriots finished undefeated in the Catholic League and get a first-round bye in the league championships. (Prev: 6)
7. Episcopal Academy (15-5) – EA earned a clutch 15-14 win over Notre Dame Friday in a first-place showdown in the Inter-Ac League. It needs to defeat Agnes Irwin Tuesday to win its sixth straight crown. (Prev: 8)
8. Upper Dublin (17-0) – The Cardinals won the Suburban One American Conference title with a perfect mark and host Avon Grove in the District 1 tourney as the No. 8 seed . (Prev: 7)
9. Downingtown East (13-4) – The Cougars finished third in the Ches-Mont League and gained the No. 7 seed. They host Pottstown in the first round of districts. (Prev: NR)
10. North Penn (16-1) – The Maidens won the Suburban One Continental Conference title and have the sixth seed in districts, They host Methacton in the first round. (Prev: 10)
