Philly guide to boys’ summer camps for 2010:
Quickstick S4 Evening Lacrosse Camp at La Salle College High School. For boys aged 11 to 16, from 5-8 p.m. on June 14-17. The fee is $200. The S4 is a specialty lacrosse camp designed to focus on stickwork, shooting, speed and strength. Campers will experience specific drills and exercises to dramatically improve these key areas. This camp is for intermediate and advanced players. The staff includes Camp Director Bill Leahy (head coach of La Salle), and co-directors Tony Resch (assistant coach at La Salle, assistant for US National team and former Barrage head coach as well as Wings Hall of Famer), Chuck Cirelli (assistant coach at La Salle).
Penn Premier Boys Lacrosse Camps

The Lehigh Lacrosse Experience will be held for boys in grades 5 through 10, Jun 29-July 2. This camp is designed for upper grade school, middle school and high school players of all skill levels. Each camper will receive four days of instruction, three nights’ accommodation, and meals in Lehigh’s on-campus dining center. Each full day will include three independent on-field sessions (morning, afternoon, evening) that will focus on teaching fundamental skills and concepts, practicing half-field and full-field live game situations, and applying the skills and concepts from those game situations to the scrimmages and games. There also are team discounts.
The Titan Youth Lacrosse Camp, June 29- July 2, at Swarthmore College, for youth boys in Grades 3 through 9, features individual and team skills using novel and fun drills and the established “Progressive Lacrosse Coaching” methodology.

United Sports Summer Lacrosse Camp for boys ages 7 to 14 of beginner and intermediate levels. Camps begin the week of July 12 and July 26 for either full or half-day. Run by 11-year pro player Dave Stilley (Haverford School ’92 and Duke University ‘97), and Velocity Sports owner and personal trainer Derek Touchette. LaxMotion combines lacrosse instruction in a camp setting, supplemented with the proper education and implementation of a customized year-round speed, agility and strength training program.

Lehigh Valley Showcase, July 28-30, at Lehigh University. A recruiting and skills camp run by the Lehigh University men’s lacrosse program, for rising juniors and seniors and post-graduates. The camp, open to everyone, feature three days of advanced training, testing and seminars, culminated by the all-star showcase on the final day. Campers will stay at the Lehigh dorms. All sessions of the Showcase will be filmed and made available to participants for personal use following the event. Campers also will receive printouts on strength and speed training combine activities such as the 40-yard dash and the vertical leap. Seminars will be held for recruiting/ academics, and leadership/character building. Many college coaches at the Division I, II and III level will attend the All-Star Showcase and also serve as instructors.
