The University of Pennsylvania men’s lacrosse coaches will hold their Coaches Clinic as schedule Saturday to benefit the IMLCA support fund for Bellarmine coach Jack McGetrick – regardless of the snowstorm expected to hit the region tonight.
The event will be held at Dunning Center (adjacent to Franklin Field) & Franklin Field. The charge is $5 plus a donation.
McGetrick is a longtime men’s lacrosse coach and current head coach of Bellarmine who recently was diagnosed with prostate cancer. With his insurance not covering all of his medical expenses, McGetrick is struggling to pay the bills as he fights the illness. Coaches throughout the country will be conducting clinics this winter to raise money for the Cortland grad.
The clinic begins at 10 a.m. The 12:15 p.m. Penn team practice most likely will be cancelled. Those that have sent clinic director Chris Wojcik payment and cannot attend should contact him about their donation to the Jack McGetrick fund.
For those that plan on attending, parking is available on the street, but it is meter parking. Below is a link to parking at Penn:
The clinic topics include:
Practice Planning and Program Management – Head coach Mike Murphy.
Extra Man Offense – Assistant coach Chris Wojcik.
Team Defense – Goalies coach and US National Team member Brian Dougherty.
Dodging and Shooting – Assistant coach and Philadelphia Wings member John Christmas.
For more information, contact Chris Wojcik at cwojcik@upenn.edu or at (215) 898-6127.
